Pastor
Nino Marques
Nino was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, and has been living in Canada for nearly a decade. He met his wife, Leticia, at church in 2009, and they were married in 2013. Over the years, they have lived in Brazil, Vancouver, and Winnipeg before moving to Calgary in 2023 to plant Knox Baptist Church.

Nino loves preaching through the Bible verse by verse, teaching classes, and helping people learn how to live for the glory of God in every area of life.

Nino and Leticia have five children—Nina, Noah, Luke, Levi, and Silas—who keep them joyfully busy. Leticia homeschools their children, studies theology, and loves to read. In his spare time, Nino enjoys being in nature, cooking, playing soccer, drinking good coffee, and reading books (lots of books!).

Pastor
Steven Larson
Steven was born in Edmonton, AB, but spent his childhood in Minnesota before moving to Manitoba in his late teens and spending close to 20 years in or around Blumenort, MB. Steven met his wife Liane in February of 2023 and got married in October that same year. A few days after their honeymoon, they packed all their belongings and headed out to Calgary to help with starting up Knox Baptist Church. In March 2025, they welcomed their first child, a son named Connor.
Steven has a passion for learning about God through His Word and for teaching others and sharing his faith. Steven tries to centre his life on God’s love and the Gospel of Jesus, and wants others to experience the beauty of these things.
Steven spends a lot of his free-time with their 3 dogs; Nala (labrador retriever), Niobe (golden retriever), and Sandei (mini-labradoodle). He is often hiking/walking them or exploring the mountains (when he can) with Liane. He also loves most sports; but follows hockey, football, and MMA the closest.
