3 "Simple" Steps
Being a Christian involves a heartfelt submission to God's sovereign authority, a continuous process of sanctification, and an unwavering commitment to live in accordance with the teachings of the Bible.

1. Believe
Believing is the foundational step in becoming a Christian. Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to Earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to atone for our sins, and was resurrected, offering eternal life to all who believe in Him.
This belief isn't just intellectual; it involves placing your trust in Christ as your Savior and Lord. As Romans 10:9-10 (ESV) says, "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
2. Repentance and Baptism
Repentance is a turning point in your journey as a Christian. Recognize your need for forgiveness, confess your sins to God, and commit to turning away from a life of disobedience. Acts 3:19 (ESV) encourages us to "Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out." Repentance demonstrates a genuine desire to live in alignment with God's will and to experience His transformative grace.

As a public demonstration of our belief in Jesus Christ and our repentance from sins, we should be baptized in the waters as Jesus commands us.
3. Join the Family
Joining a local church is vital for spiritual growth and community. Engaging with fellow believers, worshiping together, and participating in the life of the church provides opportunities for learning, encouragement, and service. Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV) advises, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." Being part of a church allows you to contribute to the body of Christ and live out your faith in a supportive environment.
