Stories of Grace #3 - Melissa Macey

Hi 👋🏼 I’m Melissa.

By God’s grace, I’ve been part of Knox Church since it began, and in February 2024, I stepped into the role of leading the music team.

I didn’t grow up in the church—occasional visits with my grandparents were the extent of it. At 13, I gave my life to Christ at Red Rock Bible Camp in Manitoba, but for many years, I didn’t walk closely with Him.

Through a long and messy season, God never let go. In His mercy, He placed faithful people in my life—including a man that James (my husband) and I worked with—who encouraged us to return to church. That marked the beginning of a slow and steady work of renewal.

Years later, through God’s leading, various church communities, and much-needed wisdom, we found ourselves at Knox.

It’s been a joy to witness how God brings together a small group of people, each with different gifts, to form a unified body that reflects His beauty and grace. Every part matters, and every gift is from Him and for Him.

I’m especially humbled to serve on the music team. Nino has been a kind and faithful mentor, teaching me more about what it means to worship in spirit and truth.

There’s still so much to learn—but I’m excited to see all that God has in store for our church. May He be glorified in it all. ❤️
