Hi, my name is Gabriela Cuevas.
I grew up in a broken family, and before knowing God, I lived in a very dark place—one marked by appearances, competition, and vices. I believed I was my own god. I thought I was always right, self-sufficient, and above others. Even though I had my children, I felt empty and deeply sad. I tried to present a perfect image to the world, wanting to be admired and seen as an example, but inside I was not who I pretended to be.
After moving many times, I eventually came to Canada. Here, I met someone (Juan Penner) who shared the gospel with me and continues to do so to this day. Through that, I came to understand that I had never truly been alone. I saw my sin clearly and realized my need for salvation. I learned that Jesus Christ gave His life for me, that He took the punishment for my sins, and that salvation is a gift of grace received through faith. God’s grace reached me and began a real transformation in my life, from the inside out.
Today, my life is different. I have left my old vices behind. I no longer live in darkness, emptiness, or pride. I now understand that I am nothing apart from the Lord, and that everything I have is because of His mercy. God has transformed my heart, my mind, and the way I live.
Because of this, I desire to serve Him in every way I can. I want to be part of this church not merely as an attendee, but as a committed member of the body of Christ. I want to continue growing in my faith, learning from God’s Word, and standing firm alongside a spiritual family—supporting others and being supported in return. I understand that church membership involves responsibility, unity, and service, and I am ready to embrace that commitment with love and obedience.
To God be the Glory now and forever!
